Hi, all.

As some of you know, I've recently begun preparations for converting to Roman Catholicism. I attended a Catholic high school for four years, and am partly attracted to this denomination by something which I don't find in others: an acceptance of legitimate aparitions, contemplation, aceticism, and metaphor. All of this is represented under the mysticism heading, and I'd love some feedback on any bit of it from all of you. I'm particularly interested in the writings of Saint John of the Cross and Saint Teresa of Avila, whom I'll be mensioning in successive topics. But, am I right in supposing that, apart from the baptist's speaking in tongues and so-on, most Christian denominations don't put any stock in supernatural events, such as visions of Christ crucified?

Well, I think so does the protestant we also have these things. Are there extremests that believe there is no such and/or they are above? Of course! I think there of them in every religion. Protestants christian belief isn't bad. It's really believable. Imho

That's why a lot of protestants question Catholics. Because of both the heavy emphasis on worshiping Mary, and the praying through idles. I personally, don't care. They can believe what they want. If they want idles, why not? If they want to worship a certain thing, why not? Just let them be. If they want to convert to protestant believe they can. If they don't, that's fine! I mean, not picking on you, but I am just voicing the thoughts of this concept in general.

Yes, these two in particular were cosmic mystics. Teresa of Avila especially. She wrote a book called entering the castle. Caroline Myss updated the language and republished it under the guidance of this saint. Nuns and priests seem to recognize energy before matter, so does Jesus. I'm just starting to dig in to this more fully channeling grace and learning what prayer can do. You have found the narrow gate. What have you found on the other side? Tiffany
